Junior Puppy First Steps

This class is for puppies under 5 months of age who have not taken a class before. 

Content-socialization (play times with other puppies)

             -focus exercises

             -basic obedience and manners

             -how to cope with common puppy issues. 

             -what to expect, when as your puppy develops. 

             -recall games

             -fun tricks and games to do with your puppy

This class is built using positive reward based methods and fun games. Our focus in on helping you build a great relationship with your family pet and help him to be a comfortable and happy family member. 

 

Senior Puppy First Steps

This class is for puppies over 5 months of age who have not taken a class before. 

Content-socialization (play times with other puppies)

                -how to cope with common puppy issues. 

                -what to expect, when as your puppy develops. 

                -recall games

                -fun tricks and games to do with your puppy

This class is built using positive reward based methods and fun games. Our focus in on helping you build a great relationship with your family pet and help him to be a comfortable and happy family member. 

 

Advanced Puppy

This class is for puppies who have taken our Puppy First Steps Class (either Junior or Senior)

Content-Recall (building that rock solid recall so your dog will come when called every time)         

              -Manners (jumping up, counter surfing, chewing inappropriately, excessive barking)

              -Leash walking skills

              -Relationship building games and tricks to do with your dog. 

              -What to expect as your dog becomes an adult. 

This class also uses positive reward based methods and game based training. Lets teach you how to help your dog become the best family member he can be. 

 

Master Puppy

This class is for puppies or dogs who have taken our previous classes

Content- Expanded Manners (coping with issues that try your patience)

              -Introduction to some agility skills

              -More complex recall games

              -Practicing Leash walking skills on streets in Clinton

              -Introduction to Scenting games. 

              -Emergency Stops

 

This Class should equip you and your puppy with most of the knowledge and skills you will need to ensure you have a long and happy forever home together. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PLEASE BRING TO REGISTER
 
* proof of vaccines - we recommend DAPPVL and Bordetella.  All dogs over 4 months of age must have proof of Rabies vaccine.  Flea and parasite control is also recommended before attending class.
* a variety of soft, small and easy to chew and swallow treats are recommend for training class.
* a flat collar or Sensible or Easy Walk harness only please.  No choke or pinch collars.  Regular  flat leash.  Please, no flexi or extended leashes.  Supplies, if needed, are available for purchase at P.E.T.S.
* anyone involved in the dog's training should come to at least one class to participate and observe.
* A SENSE OF HUMOUR

****For Reactive/Aggression cases we can do a consult and assess severity of issues and refer to behaviour consultant in either St. Mary's (Sarah Dykes) or London (Yvette Van Veen) if needed.****
